A road movie about four young girls who cross Denmark in hope of a better future. Originally they only wanted to ‘take’ some cigarettes, but before they know it, they’re on the run in a stolen Volvo. What unites them: their struggle against addiction. But can therapy and methadone heal drug abusers? Or are the examination of the self and the forgiveness of one’s own mistakes also viable options? A tragic, yet light-hearted drama by director Hella Joof, who opened Filmfest Hamburg in 2004 with “Oh Happy Day”.
